On Saturday, the Urbana Girls Cross Country team put an exclamation point on their spectacular season at the Maryland State Championship! Having qualified the weekend prior, Coach E brought his “Magnificent 7” north to the course at Hereford High School, to square off with Maryland’s best 21 large schools, in a 3 mile run in chilly weather. Just the way we like it!
The end result saw UHS finish 8th in the team standings. Super impressive ladies!
The outstanding individual times posted by all 7 runners were as follows:
Senior Sara Jarman, 28th place, 20:12.4 time. (159 runners in total)
Freshman Lula Masters, 40th, 20:36.5
Freshman Ivy Coldren, 42nd, 20:37.9
Sophomore Karly McDonnell, 44th, 20:38.8
Sophomore Lyna Beraich, 53rd, 20:49.9
Sophomore Emily McDonnell, 68th, 21:13.9
Junior Ella Auderset, 78th, 21:29.2
Look how young this team is! Many more years of excellence ahead. Great race, great season Hawks!
